Tenant consent for positive rent reporting
On-time reporting needs the tenant's consent (enroll once via a no-login link); arrears reporting does not.

Positive / on-time reporting to Equifax needs the tenant's consent. Reporting an arrears (debt) does not.
How consent is captured
The tenant enrolls once through a secure, no-login link (they can also opt in when they sign the lease). Consent then stays active until they withdraw it. Until consent is granted, any positive submission is held as consent pending rather than sent.
Good to know
Consent is versioned — if the wording materially changes, tenants are asked to re-consent. This keeps your reporting clean and defensible.
