The e-Transfer inbox — match rent payments automatically

Forward your Interac notifications to LandlordEzy and it identifies the tenant, learns the payer, and records next month's rent for you. Your money never leaves your bank.

How it works — and where your money goes

You keep your own e-Transfer address registered at your own bank, and your tenants keep paying it exactly as they do today. You add one forwarding rule that sends Interac's notification emails to a private LandlordEzy address.

LandlordEzy is never in the money path. The deposit happens between Interac and your bank; we read a copy of a notification. Nothing about your tenants' habits changes.

Match first, decide later

The default action on a transfer is match, not record. Matching connects the transfer to a tenant and learns the payer name, so next month that tenant's payment records itself — while touching nothing in the ledger today. You settle the month from the rent ledger, where you can see the whole picture.

Recording it straight as rent or a deposit is still there when you want it; it is just no longer the default.

What the inbox shows you

  • A searchable tenant picker — type a name and it filters live.
  • Every option shows what that tenant actually owes (“· owes $750.00” / “· $0 owing” / “· moved out”).
  • The tenant's last 3 months of rent, inline on every card.
  • Why a payment landed on the month it did.
  • Matched cards link straight to the tenant's profile; anything that is not a tenant payment can be ignored or deleted.

It will not double-pay a month

If the month is already recorded — same tenant, same month, same amount — that is the same money. The transfer is linked, the payer is learned, and no new ledger row is created. The e-Transfer feed can never invent a payment for a month you settled by hand.

The ledger is the truth in the other direction too: delete a payment and its transfer returns to the inbox to be matched again.

Receipts

Receipt emails go out only for fresh payments, so a bulk import or a re-scan never fires a burst of receipts at tenants who paid weeks ago.
