Move out & archive a past tenant

Retire a former tenant without losing anything — their lease, rent history and receipts are kept and can be restored.

Moved out vs archived

When a tenancy ends you have two tidy steps, both non-destructive:

  • Mark moved out (in the lease's Overview) sets the lease to Moved Out, frees the unit for a new tenant and stops future rent records.
  • Archive then moves the tenant off your active Leases list into Archived Tenants.

Nothing is deleted — the lease, rent history, receipts and documents are all kept. That matters if you ever need the record later, e.g. to file an LTB application against a former tenant.

Find & restore

  1. Open Archived Tenants from the sidebar.
  2. View the full record read-only, pull the rent history, or Restore the tenant to your active list.

What the tenant sees

A moved-out tenant keeps read-only access to their own past rent history and receipts under Past Tenancies — useful for their records and taxes.
