Property management in Waterloo, Ontario

Waterloo Region

Waterloo's rental licensing rules changed on 1 July 2026. Long-term rentals — houses, duplexes, townhouses and similar — need a licence, short-term rentals of 30 days or less need a separate one, and both renew annually. The City publishes a lookup for checking whether a rental is licensed, and its own guidance on N13 notices and renovictions alongside it.
