N2 — Notice of Rent Increase (Unit Partially Exempt)

When to use the N2 — and what happens next

Increase the rent where the unit is partially exempt from the guideline (e.g. newer buildings). The N2 is filed by the landlord under section 116 of the Residential Tenancies Act.

Serving a notice does not end a tenancy by itself — an LTB order is required, and only the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) can enforce an eviction. Confirm the exact dates and current version on the official form.
