How a landlord's credit check works, what you consent to, and how to view your report.
What happens
A landlord can only pull your Equifax credit report with your consent, captured through a secure link. You can see the checks tied to you under My Lease & Screening → My Credit Check Report. Your SIN is optional and, if given, is used only for the check and never stored.
Good to know
Reports are viewed securely and expire automatically. A soft, consented rental credit check like this is normal and expected when applying for a place.
